3rd Valencia Winter Workshop on Theoretical Physics in João Pessoa

The first and second Valencia Winter Workshops took place in the city of Valencia (Spain) back in December of 2017 and 2018, during the winter of the northern hemisphere. These meetings were intended to get together a group of researchers actively collaborating on different aspects of the general geometric properties of space-time, field theories, symmetry breaking, and modified theories of gravity. The third edition will take place in João Pessoa (Paraiba, Brazil) during the summer of the southern hemisphere.

In this third edition of the VWW, fundamental questions about the geometric foundations of gravitation, the role of quantized fields in curved space-times, cosmological and astrophysical signatures of gravity within and beyond General Relativity, and recent developments on other topics – such as Lorentz breaking symmetry in curved space-time – will be reviewed in a series of talks and also in group discussions.

Since interactions and collaborations are the main purpose of this meeting, there will be plenty of time for group discussions in the afternoon. Three talks per day are planned in the mornings. Blackboard talks are encouraged to stimulate interactions and the exchange of ideas.

On Wednesday evening, there will be a round table for the discussion of our current networking capabilities at the national and international levels (Spain, Brazil, and beyond), and about the funding opportunities currently available to maintain this fruitful collaboration. The expected meeting point for this reunion is at the Department of Physics of the Federal University of Paraiba.

This meeting is organized by the Quantum Black Holes, Supergravity and Cosmology group at the Department of Theoretical Physics & IFIC of the University of Valencia& CSIC, Spain, and the Department of Physics of the Federal University of Paraiba , Brazil.

Registration fee (only cash): 200€ or R$ 934.
